How we handle your data while helping your startup ship faster
Last Updated: 11/6/2025
Caladan gives funded startups instant engineering bandwidth to ship faster than their competition. We clear backlogs, build features, and handle technical debt at startup speed. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. We'll be honest about what we do and don't do.
Account Basics: Your name, email, startup details, and payment info. Standard stuff to manage engineering projects.
Project Data: Your codebase context, backlog items, feature specs, and technical requirements.
Project Communications: Calls, emails, Slack messages, and feedback during feature development.
Code Delivery: How you and your team use the features and code we deliver.
Payment Records: Project invoices, payments, and contracts as required by law.
Build Your Features: Analyze your requirements, develop code, implement and deploy to production.
Quality Control: Test code, track performance, ensure features actually work in production.
Get Better: Figure out what helps startups ship faster, what patterns work, what to build next.
Keep Things Running: Customer support, bug fixes, making sure your features work properly.
Legal Stuff: Contracts, invoicing, complying with laws we're still learning about.
Here's who sees what:
Your codebase and project data stays with us to build your features. We track basic metrics like velocity and performance to improve delivery. Other startups can't see your code or features. We're building for your success, not sharing your competitive advantages.
We use HTTPS, encrypt passwords, and host on reputable cloud providers. We're a tiny team, not a bank. We do our best with security but can't promise Fort Knox. If something bad happens, we'll tell you quickly and fix it as fast as we can.
We keep your data while you're active plus 90 days. Completed features stay for 6 months for support. Tax records we keep for 7 years (the IRS makes us). Want your data deleted? Email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.
You can:
We use cookies to keep you logged in. We use PostHog to see what features people use. That's it. No ad networks, no Facebook pixel, no creepy tracking.
We use cloud hosting, payment processors, and development tools to build your features. They get only what they need to work. We're not sharing your startup data with random companies.
We're US-based and store data in the US. If you're international, your data crosses borders. We'll add fancy compliance stuff as we grow, but right now we're focused on making the product work.
This policy will change as we figure things out. Big changes we'll email you about. Small tweaks we'll just update here. Check back occasionally.
